About Tuscany by the sea

Ciao, I am Elisabetta. I was born and raised in Livorno, a hidden gem on the coast of Tuscany, the fifth sister of the popular Firenze, Siena, Pisa, Lucca.  Livorno has something that outshines these famous towns in the region: "il mare", the Riviera!

In Livorno, everything revolves around "il mare", the boardwalk, the beaches, and the rocky part of its coast which invites good swimmers to dive into the transparent Tyrrhenian waters from cliffs high above.

From spring to autumn, the "Livornesi" (the Livorno residents) never miss any opportunity to spend at least a few hours every day sunbathing and swimming to recharge. In fact, the Livornesi are known to have a very good sense of humour, and to be always ready for a good laugh. They claim that it's due to the beneficial effect of the sun and the sea!

Besides enjoying nice walks on the Livorno coast (aka Etruscan coast), I would like to bring my guests to a few "off the beaten path" gems that this city and its coastal surroundings have to offer: intimate tours to small family owned wineries, olive oil mills, honeybee farms, artisanal micro-breweries, and unique butcher shops where the master butchers make their own prosciutto, salami, and other typical Tuscan cured meats.
